1:47 am - Just wanted to stop in and say "Hi"............

Hi all,

I'm 35 and a big fan of all the fandoms that you listed. Actually, I started out as a big Dracula/vampire fan in the mid-80s (I still read alot of pro author vampire fic) and then found Phantom of the Opera in 1989, although I like both Butler and Crawford. In 1997, I became a huge Jekyll and Hyde fan (also a Robert Cuccioli fan). I saw J&H many times on broadway through 1999 (thank goodness for student tickets:) I am also a big Les Miz fan and like Philip Quast. Yeah, I've worn out my 10th Anniversary dvd already--twice:)

I started writing Dracula-Phantom fanfic in the early 90s (was published in some zines) but then went to grad school. I came out in 99, found a RL teaching job and started writing again. Just recently, I added to my Dracula/Phantom universe with a triple-cross story http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2455097/1/

Feel free to read my LJ, fanfic http://www.fanfiction.net/u/397630/ and friend me if you think we share similar interests. I am always looking for more LJ buddies who share lots of my interests (and understand all my characters in my cross-universe fic:)

Take care all,

1:05 pm - *peeks around corner*

After stumbling upon this community I simply must join. It would be a sacrilege not to. ^_^ I’ll skip the obligatory intro and just say that I’m an avid worshiper of musical theater in general, but particularly of Jekyll & Hyde, Phantom, Les Miz, and The Pimp (er… Pimpernel.)

I guess that covers it. Stay tuned for more relevant posts… maybe. :)

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find any pictures of Keith Burns playing Montparnasse...?

9:22 pm - Introducing Myself.

Ooh! Ooh! I want to thwart revolutionary scum too! Can I join!

Anyway, I saw this community about four months ago and decided not to join at the time. Now I've re-found this place, I can't believe I didn't join in the first place. My history with the supported musicals is as follows:

Les Miserables -- I own two different recordings, a script, and a complete vocal score...and performed in it once. Yes! And read the whole 1634 page book.
Jekyll & Hyde -- I own the OBC recording. I love comparing it to the book.
The Scarlet Pimperniel -- I can't find a copy of the recording! Ugh! But I know the storyline and already love it. It's on my "to read" list.
Phantom of the Opera -- I own the ALW OBC recording, and am looking for the Yeston one. Read the book four times.

Now, about me:

Name -- Lady Bedivere, to you.
Age -- Young High School Senior
Location -- California, USA

Hopefully I'll meet all of you soon! Goodbye for now!

8:35 pm - Character's Ages..
bwayroxmyworld Just out of curiousity, how old would you estimate that some of the Les Mis characters are? Do we know any of the ages for sure? I think I read that Marius is 18, Valjean is 50, Young Cosette and Young Eponine are 8, Gavroche is 11 or 12, and that the Bishop is 70. Does anyone know the ages of any of the other characters? I'm just curius because I've read bits and pieces of Les Mis, but never seen the play/movie so I'm trying to visualize it better. Now I'm reading the book, and plan to rent the movie after I read the book.

6:10 pm - Vive la republique!

Bonjour Mes Amis,

I cannot begin to express my overwhelming joy that I found this community. Les Miserables, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Jekyll and Hyde. I am thrilled! Tres magnifique! If any of you feel driven to build a barricade, I am at your side.

My thanks to all of you.

1:25 pm - hello...

I am new to this, but I would like to say....
the Percy in the movie with Anthony Andrews was the best, in my opinion.

11:11 am - oh please

"Douglas Sills, a Tony nominee for his work in The Scarlet Pimpernel, has been offered the role of Orin Scrivello D.D.S. in the upcoming Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors.

Sills' agent confirmed to Playbill On-Line that the actor-singer is now in negotiations to star as the sadistic dentist in the Broadway debut of the famed Alan Menken-Howard Ashman musical. Sills was previously committed to the forthcoming Arena Stage production of Ken Ludwig's Shakespeare in Hollywood, which will star Side Show Tony nominee Alice Ripley. Ripley played Audrey in the pre-Broadway developmental engagement of Little Shop of Horrors in Coral Gables, Florida.

Little Shop of Horrors is scheduled to begin previews at the Virginia Theatre Aug. 29 with an official opening set for Oct. 2. As of press time, there has been no official casting announcement for the eagerly awaited musical, although Kerry Butler, Rob Bartlett and Michael Leon-Wooley have been offered the roles of, respectively, Audrey, Mr. Mushnik and Audrey II."

I really hope he takes that offer.

2:43 pm - Percy should have been in LXG...

...& he was!! I believe I have found the most redeeming part of LXG!

Found at Internet Movie Database: One of the portraits in M's museum shows the following fictional characters: Gulliver, Natty Bumpo, Percy Blakeney (the Scarlet Pimpernel) and his wife, Fanny Hill, and Dr. Christopher Syn as the Scarecrow. This portrait also appeared in the original graphic novel.

I wish I had known that before hand & I would have looked for it. ^_^

madamelefantome As the mod of this fair community and also your leader in the fight against tyranny, I'd just like to say WELCOME!!!! to the new members, who are from Oklahoma! Yay! We should get together and eat at La Baguette here in Norman and talk about Les Mis!

Also--Amy! You should post pictures of sock puppets Enjy and Jehan.

3:43 am - Lud Love Me!!

Can this be true...a group of people who enjoy Les Mis, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Jekyll & Hyde (among others) just as much as I?? *faints with delight*

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself & ask a couple short questions.

Firstly: I'm Stargaziey *waves* ^_^

1. Which of these wonderful stories did you fall in love with first?
2. What draws you to them?

1. Les Mis was what got me started. I discovered it many years ago when I was in the 8th grade.
2. I believe it's the 'hero' aspect of the men in the story, or something of that nature. You just can't find guys like Valjean, Percy, Dr. Jekyll or even Javert or Chauvelin. Not to mention tortured souls in white poofy shirts (like Percy) are waaay sexy!

6:58 pm - allo...

I came across your interesting community here. Wow... I'm not alone after all. Anyway, I'm a long time Les Miz/Pimpernel/Jekyll/Sweeney/Notre Dame/etc. fan, long time failure at getting anyone to go to my sites... Oh well. I look forward to any controversy I may be involved in. Or just knowing that I'm not alone in my disgust for the know-it-alls who ruin all the fun.

6:24 pm - The J&H Manifesto I

In defense of my alter ego, dear friend and crazy accomplice, madamelefantome I feel inclined to post. Now, granted - she is a little nuts. I think that's why we all love her. It's really easy to judge her antics as completely wack if you don't know her, but I think I know her well enough to see her intentions. She meant no lasting, direct harm, she just wanted to make a little stir, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Lizzie, anytime you want to go to war, I'll come along with. ...unless it's against England. We can't have that.

9:04 am - Return fire

So, one of them has seen the post and retaliated.

As I said there, I'm not actively getting myself involved in this. Call me a coward, but I'd rather be a Valjean and not have a shot fired from my gun. There are other ways I can help.

madamelefantome Lud love me! Such conjecturing could drive a man insane! If you hate the Elitist Les Mis bitches and are tired of their elitist crap, join us! And be a better elitist! We allow FUN in our community. It's what our boys, the British boys, stand for. Tomfoolery and what not. We don't tolerate strictly angsty nonsense 'round here. Join us and HAVE FUN! YAY!
